Inspiration

Wheninthe studio, Leila findsherself inspired by theunbridled freedom and rawness of artists like Willem de Kooning, Robert Motherwell and Gerhard Richter. Their workshave sparkedher passionfor experimenting, tryingnew techniques, and constantly strivingto do things a better way. Incontrast, the works of Alexander Calder and Paul Klee draw her in withtheir seemingly effortless balance andharmony. Leila thoroughly enjoys the process and the challenge of creatingnew art. She desires to findher own ways of embodyingbalance and freedom duringher creative process and embracingexperimentationis key.

History

Leila is a fourthgeneration Arizonan,growingup inthe small townof Waddell inthe far West Phoenix Valley.Spendingher childhood surrounded by farms, animals, and the desert Leila formed a strongconnection withnature. Her love for Arizona and all of its diversenatural beauty runs deep.

Shortly aftergraduatingCum Laude witha Bachelors of Fine Art from ASU, Leila was married toherhighschool sweetheart. That same year, 2006, Leila began workingas Production Artist and Designer at Phoenix Art Group. Thenext 12 years she spent learningandgrowingas anartist inthis setting. Workingalongside many talented, loving, and drivenpeoplehelped Leila become the personshe is today.

Currently, Leila livesnear where shegrew up andhasher ownart studio just a few miles away. Sharingher life withher husband, two childrenand two rescue dogs, Leila’shome life is a source ofgreatgratitude.
